My brother is starting school this week and having common tests. Gosh, his june holidays is over. He was angry with me for not keeping my promise to help him in his preparation for the common tests. But I can't spare some time to help him, especially in this situation- i am working long hours. So this week, I am going home asap for him and his enquiries.

Nothing much happened during work...not that I can recall of.

I can't wait to go home straight after work. But the boss told us to stay back and she will sprung a practical test for us. What a last minute decision! I became very nervous..the question of "what will happen if i can't make it?"My hands were very cold..really panicked like crazy loh...at that very moment, i wanna raise my white flag and said "I quit."

Thoughts of quitting kept running through my mind. I talked it out with my fellow working buddies..so i decided...to avoid making a harsh decision, i shall give it some time for me to ponder and work out the best solution.

The boss kept criticizing us during the test loh...making the 3 of us so tensed up and offended by her harsh words. After the session, there was a long debrief led by one of the senior teachers. We left the office at 8plus pm loh.

I am glad not to go for work today....wasnt feeling well after breakfast so went back to sleep...sleeping without any worries for the day is so comfortable. woke up in the late afternoon...that was the time i read the sms requesting me to help out in the office in the afternoon...too late le loh...

I am only free to update my blog once every week...haha when i reached home, I have enough energy to lie on my bed and nothing else. Feeling exhausted...

Yippee....I can laze around on mondays..wanna catch up with my own schedule and holiday goals...but my brains are too tired to do a bit of studying...i am trying my best..trying..trying!!

why can't i have more off days? Among the teachers, me and GH are working longer hours because we have to help out in the exhibitions...(T_T) i need a good, long and refreshing break..

while waiting for the rest of them to come, i was looking for a suitable card to write messages for a colleague who was going to leave the company.

Jan~ ended her work early today so she went to the Miss Clarity Cafe for the booking. On the phone, she told me that there were many people dining at the cafe and asked us to come quick.

On the day itself then did I know that there were planning to have a birthday celebration surprise for Jun~. There was a communication breakdown....Jan~ was supposed to inform me about the surprise...but she forgot to pass the message on.

The birthday cake was lovely..haha we took some pictures together..first time leh..haha...all the time we were out, we didn't even take any photos. The pictures are with Jan~ so i am waiting for her to send the pictures. Hmm...my guess is..she will send it a few weeks later..a very busy girl..haha

so..no pictures for this entry~~

after the meal, we walked around bugis street...haha the activity for our next outing is planned..hope to see each other soon~~

Anime of the week- la corda d'oro

ABOUT LA CORDA D'ORO (information provided by wikipedia)

Kin'iro no Corda (金色のコルダ, Kin'iro no Koruda^?), is a role-playing game from Koei's Neoromance series. The title is also sometimes written La Corda d'oro, Italian for The Golden String.

The story has been adapted into a shōjo manga series by Yuki Kure serialized in the Japanese shōjo manga magazine LaLa.

Summary

Kahoko Hino is a student at a Seisou Academy, one with an ordinary life. One day, Lili - the mischievous musical fairy who had blessed the original founder of the school - finds Kahoko running late to class. Delighted that she is able to see him, Lili grants Kahoko a magical violin, and a place in the school's annual musical competition, which many students in the music department vie to partake in.

Kahoko refuses, only to be pressed on by the fairy, who constantly nags her until she finally gives way to his pleads. She reluctantly accepts the instrument. As she practices her pieces, Kahoko is amazed that she can play any piece on the violin as long as she knows the tune.

The school's annual musical competition (concurs) is a prestigious one...competing using classical music. At that time, 5 boys and 2 girls including the main female character were involved in this. The boys involved in the concours have obvious crushes on her, though Kahoko is unable to figure that out. Oooo..a love pentagon..haha

It was one of the sg youth festival songs years ago...sg copied the classical music exactly as it was...but they just add words on their own...the whole thing was written as though it was the original work of a particular sg composer (i didn't recall the music sheets mentioning that it was actually a copy of the classical music-Jupiter)

i dun like it when people copy other people's work and claimed it as their own.

watching this anime inspired/encouraged me to learn classical music..haha classical music is so beautiful...okee i shall know more about classical music next holidays.

Goody goody...continuing my studying..glad to have my time back to do what i plan to do during my holidays...

ahhh...i miss the "pushing daisies" series on tv..kept forgetting about it. :(

spending time at home and doing whatever i want to do is considered a bliss these days...

confirming my timetable for 2nd academic year...yea i am so happy that i managed to squeeze my lessons into 2 days...when school reopens, i am working part time..so i need to set aside time at home to study...

BUT....my joy was shortlived..because one of the lecturers made a sudden change to the timetable..so my timetable became a 3 day week...(T_T)

I couldn't sleep,toss and turn in the night till 7am...
Must be because I couldn't help recalling what i watched...earlier in the day, watched about celebrities that came across ghosts in rented apartments in Taiwan...admit that i was badly frightened...i was alone at home when watching that. (T_T) huhuhu....one celebrity (an expert in paranormal activities) said that ghosts have 3 general methods to scare people- hide, make you blind, appear in front of you. Hide..for example you leave your hp on the table, then when you turn around, the hp disappeared. you couldn't find it anywhere..he said that it is the ghost who cover the hp. after a while, if the ghost stopped covering that, the hp will appear exactly on that table, as though it wasn't moved. Secondly, making you blind, they can "cover" your eyes/ears so that you can't sense or see anything..pitch black. Haha i don't wish to recall all these...so won't be talking about the rest of what he said. Too spooky liao...*shivers*

A bizarre dream of a bespectacled stranger....he behaved as though he knew me well...though i knew nothing of him...rememberd seeing his face so clearly...but haha i dun remember how he looked like liao. the dream was surprisingly complete and there was even part 2 of the dream..haha mostly when i dream of strangers, i don't see their faces..blurred/in shadows.

heez woke up at 11.30am, by my family's standard, this is very late liao. My family are early risers...we usually wake up around 7-9am. Any time later than that, we will be labelled as late liao.

I am not working at the moment till further notice so I am meeting *h at 2pm to learn jap. Thanks for the jap notes!! She is a very patient teacher heez....hmm, this is the first time she is teaching me something..haha i will practice when i have time..^_^ We spent 3 hours at Macdonalds studying.

After jap lesson, I promised to meet my parents at the JE popular bookshop to buy school supplies. The last installment of the Harry Potter series costs $19.90!! I can buy it now..it is the lowest price ever, original price was $54. I planned to buy the first installment too to complete my collection but the books there were in terrible condition.

In the night, we had a birthday celebration for my brother
i am going to recover from my sickness soon..hopefully asap..slight cough (^_^)

Thursday is a half-day work for me..we were assigned to the afternoon shift.
Reached my workplace..and that was the time i read the new sms..saying not to come for work for these few days till further notice...

The principal isn't around for this week...so we couldn't ask her what happened. very worried that i will lose this job...:(

I headed back home...and slept the afternoon away..heez...

In the evening, my family went to the PC show at suntec city.

dun really need a laptop but wanna own one haha

Today is my bro's birthday!!!

Happy Birthday~~

It is the first time that his friends in school celebrated his birthday. His birthday is during the june holidays so in the past, it is inconvenient to celebrate his birthday.

I am still sick so we didn't celebrate today. ahh..i cannot eat good food today~~(T_T)

During lunch, I saw someone that looks exactly like my pri 5 cousin eating at the next table. It is exactly the same.. i would have thought it is him, but the parent sitting beside him was not someone i know. Too bad I accidentally left my hp at home during my rush to work...i could have snapped a photo of him in secret..haha to show my mother..

It was a last minute decision for us to take a trial class..children can go into the education centre to have a free trial lesson..to decide whether they want to sign up for the courses. The number of students in the class increased from 1 to 4. The senior teachers tested the 2 of us to see whether who was suitable to be the main teacher and the assistant teacher. GH took the role of the main teacher as I wasn't familiar with the procedures and my hands were shaking uncontrollably (due to lack of energy and hungry)

G.H suggested to give ourselves nicknames so that the kids taking trial classes will remember us easily.(our names are difficult for them to remember). She came up with 'spongebob' and 'squarepants'. Amusing loh....then we thought of fruit as our nicknames..i want grape!! haha..later she settled on being "whatever" and "anything" (ya know, the canned drinks) She was certain about calling herself teacher "whatever" and I am teacher "anything". No idea whether the kids can "get the joke". (=_=)

Trial class starts at 5.30pm but nobody came at all. Getting so worried....disappointed that they weren't coming. after half an hour, they finally came. (=_=) An average class duration for 7-10 years old is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Only 3 showed up...all boys...2 are brothers and another is their neighbour. The youngest is 6 years old so he needed more time to do the classwork..I was in charge of teaching him.

The lesson is over..and by that time...the kids called her "watermelon teacher" and me as "banana teacher" ( i wore yellow t-shirt loh). They enjoyed the lesson...more like a game to them (^_^)

One of the sales consultants ask them which teacher they like..and the youngest said is banana teacher..haha yippee i have a supporter!! haha thanks...didi!!

sun 7 june~

When GH and I were about to leave the office yesterday, the principal told us to report to Singapore Expo the next day. Oooo our company was involved in the motherhood exhibition and our job there was to teach trial classes and entertain the kids. Both of us were so nervous about it..felt like we were "pushed into the sea and expected us to learn how to swim". I was so tired when i reached home but managed to read through the school notes.

We looked through the materials provided and wah, we haven't gone through all these. Throughout the day, we improvised according to the age of the children who came.

I was in charge of the first kid who came along [ i lost in a game of scissors, paper, stone so i am teaching first (=_=) ] The 3 year old kid was hard to handle..he was too shy, his attention span was very short and he kept sticking to his elder sister. The culture of this company is..when the kids have done well, we will hi-5 loh. And wow, now i know the power of Hi-5-ing!! haha slowly, i have seen an improvement in him and he began to enjoy what i have been teaching him..haha a very smart boy, good photographic memory, strong intuition/esp and blah blah. GH was in charge of entertaining the elder sister and both sibilings liked the lessons. The boy refused to leave the place at the end. I felt so happy after teaching the boy...yippee!!

There wasn't much of a crowd for a few hours. Our sales consultants did their best to pull in kids to play...so we ended up being busy again. Time past very quickly... too engrossed in entertaining the kids. we were successful in making the kids happy

I noticed kids are so pampered that they don't even know how to put on/take off specs. Parents help them all the time that they can't do things with their own hands. If you have kids in the future, don't do that okay? This is not helping them at all.

Another thing i notice is...some parents don't encourage their children to pick up English language but keep focusing on mandarin. Some children don't understand a single word of English. what a terrible situation..i felt sorry for them..it is difficult to survive in schools and any other situations.

So many young parents came for the exhibition...the fathers seem to look much more younger than the mothers..maybe just the looks.

The principle didn't let us go till very late..i skip my lunch and dinner because there wasn't any time and the eating places were packed.

Tobe honest, i have forgotten about yw's birthday party on this day. ZY smsed me about it the night before..ahh i am so sorry, yw. i couldn't make it..i have to work almost everyday...

My parents planned to celebrate my bro's birthday earlier because I would be probably busy soon. went to changi airport to have our meals..yummy~~

I suggested going to Tampines mall...wah it is so crowded and my father didn't feel well. I think he hasn't really recovered from his illness. So we took a quick walk around the place and left.

I went to the music store...and what did I see?...Wahahaha...shinhwa's 10th anniversary cd and their limited edition. I bought both....finally singapore is selling this!!
