Super No 1 - Genie zhou wen xuan

Wednesday, June 06, 2007

Nothing much has been happening. Hmm..i should said that i am thankful about it cos no news is good news.

Watching The Eye 10 movie during lunchtime and it is not even one bit scary to me. My friend has the same sentiments too. Can tell that the ghosts are not really ghosts but just people with horrible makeup on.

Recently, getting hooked on the Taiwanese drama series - It started with a kiss. This is a second adaptation into a drama series from the Japanese Manga. The first drama series acted out from this manga is the Japanese version. I watched the Japanese version when I was in secondary school and it was funny!! I remembered I practically rolled on the floor while watching it. Because of this, I sort of doubted whether the Taiwanese version will be as good as that and whether it does follow the manga plot. My friend said that it is nice to watch so I decided to try it.
(hmm..taken from a website - http://www.suki-desu.com/itazuranakiss/story.html )

Main Characters

The main girl is called Kotoko (Manga) / Qin Zi ( Jap ) / Xiang Qing ( Taiwanese). During high school, she belongs to the F class ( the lousiest class in the school) and the students there have super low IQ. She is clumsy, doesn't think and she can't do anything at all, even the simplest things. She is even simple-minded and her imagination always run wild. If i say wild, it is really the extreme kind.

The main boy is called Naoki ( Manga ) / Zhi Shu ( Jap/ Taiwanese )

* Ah..i miss hearing that name..haha *

During high school, he belongs to the A class ( the best class in the school). Hmm, it is opposite to that of the F class. He is a genius and always the top of the whole cohort. He scores full marks
( that is 600 ) for all subjects. He has an IQ of 200!!!!

* Isn't that amazing??*

He can easily remember things. For example: if he just read a page once, he can even recite to you word for word.

* How amazing is that??!!*

He doesn't even need to study and can just finish all the holiday homework on the first day of the school holiday.

* How i wish i can be like him...sighhh*

Every night, he sleeps at 10pm on the dot. Not only he is smart, he is very good looking too.

* as can see from all the girls' responses when they see him..they just went insane over him*

He doesn't talk much and doesn't reveal much of his emotions. Very "cold" person.

There is another boy called Ah Jin ( Taiwanese) *I only remembered his name in this version because I didn't pay attention to him in the Japanese version. * haha...Ah Jin is in F class too and he is madly in love with the main girl.

The story goes like this. Xiang Qin likes Zhi Shu for 2 years. This is kind of a "love at first sight" situation as it seems to me. Finally she decided to give him a love letter to declare her love for him. Unfortunately, Zhi Shu didn't accept the love letter. He even said that he doesn't like dumb girls. This has resulted in her being the laughing stock of the whole school. This is because it is impossible for someone in A class to like someone in F class. *Grumbles..what a sad thing. *

Unexpectedly, during a visit from her friends, her house collapses. Her father decides to temporarily stay at his friend's house while the house is being re-built. To her shock, her father's friend is actually Zhi Shu's father. That means they are going to be living under the same roof. So now, Xiang Qin likes him even more and she did a lot to get his attention.

The story continues on....

Japanese version - Itazura na kiss

I actually preferred the Japanese actors and actresses compared to the Taiwanese one. Qin Zi (acted by Sato Aiko) really makes me laugh and cringe at the same time. I like her numerous expressions. Zhi Shu ( acted by Takashi Kashiwabara ) is a very good actor too especially when he really showed his cool side. I will never forget his pained expression when Qin Zi unintentionally did things to embarrass him. Haha...Ah Jin acted by (erm i don't remember his name at all ) is a good actor too cos his irritated side truly makes me feel irritated. Made me wonder when will he ever stop disturbing Qin Zi.

Too bad, it was only 9 episodes. Still, it was very funny. The problem of this version is that it doesn't really follow the manga plot.

Taiwanese version - It started with a kiss

Acted by Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng
She didn't have the obvious expressions compared to Sato Aiko.
Joe Cheng doesn't act as cool as Takashi acted.
I am not bias loh even some people in the forum said that too.
Good thing that it is 20 episodes and it follows the manga plot quite closely.
Not that funny compared to Jap version.
I think that they are a compatible couple bah. He is super tall- the height of a door and she has to stand on a platform while acting with him. Haha..tat's funny.
I like the theme songs especially the introduction song!!

Nevertheless, both versions have their merits.

I like Zhi Shu's parents because they are so adorable!! Very rare to have such parents. haha..Zhi Shu and his brother are so alike. Both of them have very little emotions- getting sulky and annoyed easily with Xiang Qin. His mother liked Xiang Qin a lot and keep on having wild dreams about Xiang Qin and Zhi Shu's future together. That is so impossible... haha... and her mother did everything she could to pair them up together. haha His mother likes to use her camera to take pictures of just anything related to the both of them. That is so cute..haha

The funny part is that he likes to be very close to her all of a sudden to make fun of her. haha perhaps this is due to him very well know that she loves him a lot. He did that on purpose!! He always has that smirk on his face. Sometimes i find it adorable and other times, I find it irritating. Other people in the forum agreed with me too. They love him as well as hate him at times.

He has very little emotions (maybe the size of a teaspoon) so it is difficult to tell. I don't understand him. But I like this series cos it has a happy ending. (if they really did follow the manga ). His family has a huge house and I like her bedroom which his mother especially decorated for her. It will be so nice to live in such a big house.

I really pity Ah Jin ( acted by Jiro Wang). Though he tried his very best, Xiang Qin still doesn't like him. Jiro is really unlucky in dramas because another drama Hana Kimi, the girl that he likes rejected him too. Poor Jiro! I think he is going to be one of my favourite Taiwanese celebrities because of his personality. Didn't know that he can be that dramatic in real life based on an interview. haha...very humourous.

Even a genius has his problems and sorrows.

Pain and sorrow is what makes a person a real human.

Without pain and sorrow, there isn't any love in the world.

That presence of pain and sorrow makes people treasure love for anything or anyone even more.

The important lesson here is to learn how to treasure.

No one should decide and force their decisions onto others' future.

I only have the pictures of japanese version. heez..focus more on them

Japanese Version- haha she is famous for her big ears. They look happy acting for their drama series.

Her blur look

Pretty right? haha

Isn't he cool? He look pretty annoyed perhaps cos of Qin Zi. Really looks like a school student.

That annoyed look...

He pulls off that cool genius look real well..at least it seems to me.
